It would be interesting to start a discussion about people's experiences of giving their children fish oil. My son who is now 15 has been taking it since he was 9 and he and I believe it helps his concentration a lot. He notices when he has forgotten to take it for a a few days.

My son, who is now 17yrs old and is dyspraxic, has been taking fish oil suppliment for about four years. It has really helped him with his memory and concentration span. We all notice a difference when he has not taken it for a few days. He gives himself a double dose for the first day and then back to his usual dosage. He improve naturally during puberty but he still feels the benefit of taking the fish oil now.

Interesting quote in a recent Times article about fish oil:
''forget about fish oils boosting your brain cells. There is still a lack of conclusive evidence to suggest that omega-3 products will improve intelligence or cognitive function.''
This seems to go against many people's experiences that I've come across.

Our son is just going through the process of being diagnosed, but it is suspected he is dyspraxic/dyselxic. Before starting fish oils, he would spell a word differently every time and couldn't hold a pencil without dropping it. These symptoms improved markedly on high dose fish oils. However, we became lax and forgot them and hey presto, his symptoms have now come to the fore, so I suspect there is something to it, despite the lack of evidence
