The researchers at the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language Laboratory are interested in how the mind and brain process language. Currently, we are conducting a study about dyslexia.
Who Are We Looking For?
1) People who HAVE dyslexia
2) People with a PARENT, SIBLING, or CHILD with dyslexia
3) People who DO NOT have dyslexia or any other learning disorders
Information about the Study:
This study involves mainly verbal and reading tasks
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Location: Brooklyn College
Eligibility:
Age criteria: between 18 and 35
Language: learned English before age 5
Compensation:
Individuals who participate will be compensated $20 ($10/hour)

Dyslexia Help: What Dyslexia Parents Can Do: Dr Valerie Muter gives and insight into how parents can help their children to cope with dyslexia and provide dyslexia help. She gives a view of both what can be done in the early years and the middle years.
Who To See About Dyslexia In The Early Years: Jane Emerson discusses who should be consulted if a child is showing the signs of dyslexia. She considers when a speech and language therapist or an educational psychologist should be used to assess a child.
Dyslexia Parents: The Story of a Dyslexic Parent: Sara Kramer (the parent of a dyslexic child) provides an insight into the experience of dyslexia parents. She describes how parents should evaluate the courses of action available after a child is diagnosed with dyslexia.
