hi everyone, ive only just come across this forum and wondered if anyone on here may be able to help me please?
my daughter is nearly 7 years old, she has had problems since she started nursery aged 3, her attention has always been poor, and nursery struggled to cope with her, but its only over the last 6 months that all her problems seems to all be fitting together with her maybe being dyslexia.
there is dyslexia in the family to.
Heres her mains problems,
Her attention span is very short.
Shes had speech problems since very young and now stutters regular, as in she repeats last words of sentances, and last letters of words ( she says shes trying to get it right)
Shes very clumsy and is always tripping up.
She is still on the first readers books and still struggles with them at the age of nearly 7, she can sound out a word if asked, but then can not reconise it on the paper.
Now over the last few months shes started to tell us that the writing on the page bounces around and she also says she see's coloured blobs on the paper and also in the air sometimes.
Also she suffers with regular tummy pains and feeling sick and has all of a sudden gave us a drawing saying its what she see's when she feels sick, and it is a picture of lots of zig zags all over the paper joining together at the center of the page.
This is making me think of migraines! but can there be a connection to dyslexia with these? sorry for the long message im just hoping someone may be able to help me with this as all i want is the best start in life for my daughter, but im finding it a bit of a fight to get her the help she needs as even my doctor is struggling with finding someone to have her referred to,
If anyone can give me any advice with this it would be greatly appreciated! lynnette x
