my brother is 16, and he just had to injure sitting though GCSE's with no additional support although he cannot read and his writting is that of a 7-8 year old. the school he attended failed him and labled him a naughty child as he would disrupt class to hide the fact he could not do the work (which i believe to be one of the signs) he was exspelled and put on to a project, in a school report Dyslexia was mentioned but he has never been assessed. A very good teacher from his primary school also mentioned that he believed that he has a learning difficulty. When he was assessed for his first project i sat there and told them about his learning difficulty and they said he would be assessed and recieve additional support, but i have just seen my brother go to his exams feeling so degraded his only motivation and reason for sitting them is so my mum isnt fined...why can schools get away with washing there hands with children like this hes school only cares about getting a high rate of exam results and focas all there attention on the kids that will easily achieve them. this is a form of discrimination and abuse...any advise or support that you can offer would be greatly apprechiated. Is there anything he can do now he is 16 and out of the educational system?
