There is so much written about children under twelve with learning difficulties (dyslexia) but what is on offer for older children aged thirteen and how can we help them, what programmes are out there?

Dyslexia comes under specific learning difficulty (SpLD) They should be assessed and given appropriate support by the college. It should not affect application and acceptance on most courses.

There should be no difference in the help given to a person over or under 13, just changes to the programmes of support depending on extent of difficulties and courses the young person is undertaking. What kind of programmes are you looking for, what would you like them to achieve?
