Hi Tocarra,
Math formulas are scary for me too. I cope by labelling every component with a description. I then ask my tutors to spend time after class to go through every step slowly, while I write step by step what to do. I never miss out a single stage, because when I refer back to my work on the formula, my brain cannot make a 2-step jump. It works for me even though it is very time consuming.

I am now a 60 year old woman who has always had a problem with Maths! Can I at last put a name to my embarrassing difficulty. My husband has always called it a mindset -how irritating is that?
I have always had difficulty with Maths but can do my tables as in the 'old' days we learnt them by rote. I had extra lessons outside school to no avail! I couldn't grasp fractions, percentages, algebra & geometry were all just a blur to me! Even adding, subtracting, multiplications on a larger scale than what I can cope with using tables is tricky. I have to check them again and againand even then sometimes get them wrong. Using a calculator does not help! I trained as a nurse when nursing was nursing and there wasn't too much need for anything but the basics of Maths so coped OK. I know I wouldn't today! I'm left handed, used to play the violin at school by ear as reading music was very difficult; if I do manage to learn something mathematical one day through sheer determination, I've forgotten it the next and haven't a clue where to start from again!
I even tried going back to College in my 30's to try again -I think I only lasted a few weeks!
I can remember most phone numbers, but then there are a few which aren't retained however hard I try!
I love English, used to write poetry and read Russian lit at school; I've written a local history book too. I don't have a problem with words or reading. However I can do and enjoy Sudoku -but then isn't that just a question of patterning? I can't even work out how much curtain material I would need or especially carpet!
Maths just leaves me cold!
