About the forum

Rudolf Steiner (who died in 1925!) said that "the idea of keeping knowledge secret is an anachronism." Well, it's 100 years later and we're still being far too secretive. The forum is your chance to open up.

The parent of a child with learning difficulties can face an overwhelming journey getting to grips with the 'necessary' information.

You are not alone: there are lots of parents who are going through a similar experience. They are trying to make sense of a lot of the same materials and professional advice that you are; more importantly, they are receiving lots of information that you haven't come across yet. Best of all, they speak your language.

So here you can share your experience with other parents. Find out which solutions have worked for others and share what's worked for you. Swap small day-to-day tips. Think of it as a comfy sofa on which parents, professionals and anyone with an interest in learning can share their thoughts or just sit back and listen. And like sitting on a big sofa, if the talk strays from what you intended, don't worry - you're free to talk about whatever you like! The only thing we'd ask is keep it clean and keep it welcoming - like all good sofas...

Forum Ethos:

This is your forum. We want our users to have a big say in how the community is run. Drop us a line: forum@dystalk.com.

We want it to work in the most helpful way possible for you, and we need your help to achieve this. We didn't think it was right for us to decide what groups and topics to include and exclude. We thought we'd leave that for you.

If you want to create a group, all you have to do is say so.

You live in Hampshire (or New Hampshire); you and some fellow parents want to create a community around your local area. Let us know and we'll create a 'Hampshire' group.

Do you want a section dedicated just to dyscalculia? Let us know, and it's yours.
